Means for protecting wood the fire can be impregnaty (Composites are designed to dissolve salt in water, means of water-borne and solvent agents) and fire retardant coatings (so-called intumescent paint). They provide comprehensive protection against ignition of wood while protecting against biological corrosion and insects. These preparations always increase the mechanical properties of wood. It is worth noting, that they have the least effect on subsequent adhesive bonding or painting the wood. Wood retains its structure, not impeding access and air infiltration.
